Storj is moving node operator payouts and customer deposits to USDC

Storj is switching node operator payouts and customer deposits from STORJ to USDC. The STORJ token price has been highly volatile. USDC is pegged to the US dollar, which removes that risk for both the people who run the network and the customers who use it.

What changes:

• Node operator payouts. The final STORJ payout was completed on September 17, 2026. Payouts will be made in USDC on Ethereum starting October 9, 2026.
• Customer deposits. STORJ deposits are disabled as of September 25, 2026. USDC deposits will be enabled a few days later.
• Deposit discount. The 10% discount for STORJ deposits ends. Customers who deposit USDC will still have the $5 monthly minimum fee waived.

Nothing changes retroactively. STORJ deposits and discounts applied before the announcement stand as they are. The underlying token infrastructure stays in place, and the decision can be revisited if circumstances change.
